Should I purchase my Xmas BA flight now

Hope someone can help.
Currently BA are offering a good family economy deal to the UK for Christmas, i usually spend all of December with the family and will have 50 days in total back in the UK this year, some work in London and month with folks.
Whilst the cost of a family of three travelling economy is exactly the same as last year, it now seems BA may reduce prices a little further, they ran a HK$2,990 deal in January.
Whilst we are only talking of saving maybe GBP150 if I wait, I'd still rather make this saving and spend the money on my daughter. Also, I'm paying in Sterling, and Sterling is now rising from its lows.
Hence, should I book with BA with a guaranteed flight, or wait a little longer?
One will only fly with BA or Cathay.

Given that BA has suffered yet another quarterly loss, I expect better prices later in the year.

September will be better time.

Remember that the SEP low (price) season extends, usually, in to mid-NOV and then there is a shoulder season that finishes around mid-DEC, after which it is high season

You could also check UK newspaper InterNet travel pages for deals that might give you a hint of what the carriers expect.

I just bought mine for Xmas and at the price we paid ($24K for business) I think it is worth spending the money up front. We are going for the 2 weeks that are peak, and I can't see it getting any cheaper than that I have to say. The longer you wait, the less availability and the more pricey from my experience... if you are going for longer you may have more flexibilty though.

We earn/spend in HKD so the exchange rate makes no difference. Interest rates are so low that the money is no better off in the bank anyway.

Why won't you fly Virgin or Quantas? I have found their prices and customer service much better than BA.
