Tanjung Aru or Rasa Ria?

Can anyone recommend between the two resorts in Kota Kinabalu? Which is better in terms of quality of rooms, restaurants, facilities? We're planning to go there this summer with our two teenagers who loves to swim...any preferred choices? Thanks.

The Tanjung Aru one is closest to KK so easier for a shopping mooch around the town - though there's not that much to see. Facilities I recall were fine, as were the rooms. It's by the sea but you can't do much swimming there. I think most catch a boat over to the islands off the coast.

The RR is 30mins or so out of town. I recall good rooms and facilities. More to the point there's a big beach area where you can swim (great surf when we were there) and a small eco reserve thingy whee you can see orangutans and other critters. That was very nice. It also has a very nice golf course next door.

We preferred the second one but it's very easy to do both if you're there for a week. We only did a few days in each as we also did a tour inland.

I second that, Rasa Ria would be a better choice for the kids. They got kids club, horse riding and 4-wheel bikes (ATV) I think the kids will love it

loved Rasa Ria..has an Orangutan sanctuary.. great for kids
