Does anybody here have recommendations on the quickest ways to get there from HK with 3 to 4 star stays for a few days this summer?

I think the commonest/cheapest way into Laos is via Bangkok - I have flown Bangkok Air the two times I went.

Is there any specific reason for flying to Vientienne? The reason I ask is because I have been and its not a very inspiring destination with very little to see or do... Luang Prabang is by far more interesting

Ha Noi has frequent connections (daily) to Laos. Lao and VN carriers both fly this route.

They countries are closely linked politically and the Laos aircraft are now maintained in VietNam.
