China Visa Application
Posted by sampaguita (30 days ago)
Can anyone please tell me whether I can apply for a China Visa at the border of Shenzhen or Zhuhai as no time to go to CTS to get a visa.
Appreciate and grateful if anyone could reply. I heard that they always change rules so I am abit confused.
Thank you

I believe it depends on which passport you hold. The last I heard it was possible to get a visa at the border if you held a US passport but not possible if you held an EU passport. This may have now changed.

Can somebody holding a Philippine passport (HK permanent resident) apply for this visa in the border? Thanks.

It is getting more difficult to get a visa to enter China. Most nationalities cannot get a visa at the border. However, I was in macau last week to renew my visa and the agency did my visa in about 2 hours. here is their email: chinavisamacau@gmail.com
It is almost impossible for a Philippine passport holder to get a visa to China now, even with Hong Kong PR. I have many disappointed friends.
Hope this helps

for EU passport holder, you can get the visa at the china border, just did it 2 weeks ago ($150 for an one-off 5-day visa). But as wht i saw on the notice board there, the fee is different depending on your nationality.

We went to China embassy in Wanchai and were told to get (1) an employment certificate from our employers, (2) letter of support for our child stating that he will return after the visit, (3) can only get 2 entries effective within 6 months, (4) no more multiple entries with over 6 months effectivity. We were so surprised by this change in policy as we're permanent HK residents.
Asked for some info from China Travel Services and were told that this new policy was made effective in 28th of Septempber this year.
That's the reason why we're looking if we can get a 5-day Shenzhen pass at Lowu border without going through the new requirements. Anybody had any experience or even just looked up the info?

Just got the multiple entry visa. Paid 400 for 6 months, and 600 for 1 year (normal processing - not rush or express).

It's at the China embassy in Wanchai. The address is :
7th Floor, Lower Block, China Resources Building,
No.26, Harbor Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong SAR
Bring your passport, Hong Kong ID, 1 ID Picture for china visa. In the embassy you fillup an application form (or you can download from internet). I was also asked to bring a letter of employment (certification) from my company. It was quite easy.
