Orient Thai

I was wondering if anyone has actually flown Orient Thai airlines? What has your experience been? We are in HK and am thinking of booking them for our holiday to Phuket,

yes, I have taken it to phuket and survived. It is a chartered plane. Not the best service but, still get you there for a cheap price. Though I have to admit it's a risk.

What do you mean 'it's a risk'? I've been told flights are often delayed. We're also planning a break to Phuket and would like to know how safe is this airline. Thanks.

Was urging hubby to re-visit Phuket(we spent our honeymoon there 19 years ago), he declined, mentioned about the earthquake disaster.
Instead we are toying with Bali or Cebu.

If you choose Cebu, try the Shangrila-Mactan. Great place.

Honestly, Cebu is only beautiful at the Shangri-la Mactan. Anywhere else - scenery wise, is a dump and very depressing. I say go with Bali because it is a honeymooners paradise with lots of honeymoon type hotels!

KatEsser, what about the "sights" in Bali, can't stay at the hotel all the time.
What is dump and depressing in Cebu, I think otherwise since I've been there thrice.

Taps,
Tell your husband that the earthquake disaster is not a valid reason to skip out on Phuket. Was there last year and there was almost no sign of the disaster from the year before. Being full of tourists and "loud" might be a reason not to go though, but I'm sure you'll find that in Bali and Cebu too. Just as much risk of a Tsunami in those places too.
