4 of us heading to chengdu for 3 days. Besides the pandas - is there only 1 panda centre that we can visit or are there more than 1?

Besides pandas - what else is a 'must do' in chengdu?

Also - anyone knows contacts of a good driver in Chengdu? We're thinking of hiring a car for 1 day to take us around.

The giant Budha in Le-shan is a must see,My recomendation is to arrange to stay overnight in Le-shan and get to the Budha as early as possible the next morning.Beat the crowds and enjoy a long liesurely stroll arround.

Go to the archaeological museum at Sanxingdui. They have dug up some really interesting things there, different than any Chinese things I have seen before. You can do this and the panda centre easily in 1 day (do the pandas in the morning as that's when they feed them). There is a second panda centre at a panda reserve but it's quite a way from Chengdu so I don't know if you can go there in a day trip.
