Skiing in Nan Shan

We've been thinking of going skiing in Nan Shan (Beijing) for Chinese New Year holidays. Has anyone been there? Any good for a short family trip with a 4 year old?

Funny how no one has mentioned that an an hour or two by shinkansen from Tokyo will reach Naeba in Niigata prefecture for powdery snow skiing.
But do not go during the Christmas holiday, a lot of travel criss-crossing among the Japanese to visit their hometown results in "orderly" near-chaos.
Try to go during the Chinese New Year when everything including airfare is so affordable.

If you are in Hong Kong, Korea or Japan is just as close(far) as Beijing and much better infrastructure and snow.
