Any ideas for a romantic spot to stay in Macau for a weekend? Preferably central as we've never been there?

This may be a stupid question, but what's there to do in Macau besides gamble? I've only driven through to and from the airport, but I haven't seen or heard about anything that makes me want to go spend a weekend.

Grand Waldo has a nice spa. Ladies like to get pampered.
Besides, you will find the real romance walking along the Portugese streets and exploring what Macau has to offer

If you have never been to Macau then there's lots to see...fisherman's wharf, lighthouse, churches, colonial sites, visit coloane etc. I would say the 2 hotels above are probably the best. First time I went we stayed at Pousada but this was awhile ago I wonder if it's a bit runned down now? We rented a moke (mini car convertable more like a golf cart) and thoroughly enjoyed driving around and discovering the sites and portugese streets. The great part about driving the moke is we discovered alot of the city. We ate at some charming restaurants too which we discovered by accident. We spent an evening at Wynn casino for the thrill of it, we're not really gamblers. Good experience.
Rent a moke through Avis (about $400 a day)as Happy Moke stopped doing business until they get updated mokes.
Some restaurants: Cafe Littoral, Allorcha, Henry's, Fernando's (start with drinks and chorizo sausages while your waiting for that long queue!)Macau is not big.

Meiguoren, lots of colonial sights, but some of it's a bit like the nice colonial parts of GZ - just tarted up better! There's an excellent museum though up on the hill with a great comparison of western and asian development and some interesting insights.
HK-ers go to Macau to go furniture shopping, but of course we can get stuff made in GZ too. You can go go-karting, play golf, go to the beach etc too. Then there's the food - Fernando's is always great, and the sangria.... it's a nice weekend break, v chilled...

For experience, go for it.
Eat all-you-can sushi, sashimi and roast beef at Sands.
And walk around where ninalee recommended, it's romantic enough.
Looking out to the sea from one of the ruins is worthwhile.
