zigzag hair

i have long straight asian hair. but why does some hair become zigzag or curl from side to side. their width is often not consistent (some part are thicker and some part thinner). some start zigzag from the root and some only half way through.

is this what makes hair frizzy and is there anything i can do?

I am a little confused can you explain more about what you are seeing? Are you talking about their natural curl, texture, perms etc...

If you are talking about natural curl, your curl pattern or wave is determined by the shape or of the actual folicule. As the hair grows out of the folicule it passes through the mid point where if the folicol is round your hair is straight and if it is oblong it is curly. The variation of this causes curl size and deminsion.

Like wise with perms curl is gauged by the diameter of the rod size and shapecheers
