Western hairstylist

Looking for a good western hairdresser who know's how to layer long hair, price range $300. I have been to a few hairdressers and they do a lousy job. A good haircut is when the layered hair falls in the right places when it grows.

NL,
I am going to send you a message. There are several threads like this if you search but to be honest at that price you do get what you pay for in the western market. However I have been training someone, a local guy and he's really a great guy and good. Take a look at the message and see if I cannot help you here as I do understand budgets but we need to look professional. Talk to you soon....cheers

You know what? I reckon it's worth paying the extra for a better cut than trying to cut (pardon the pun!) corners. I just waited an extra month to ensure I could well afford a decent cut. I have a fabulous hairdresser who worked in Melbourne for years before coming back to HK and he did one of the best haircuts I have ever had (including my haircuts back in Aust). My hair was in pretty bad shape and hadn't been cut for over 4 months! I came out looking great and after 4 weeks it still looks great. PM me if you want the details.

Call The Firm in the Centrium and ask for Lorraine - 2525 6696 - more expensive but with out a doubt the best cut I have ever had and all 4 of the people that have been to the Firm on my recommendation have said the same.

Steffi,
I and others have taken allot of grief on this site from people like yourself and to be honest I am a little tired of it. First and foremost we do this because there is a real need. Second, it takes a large part of our day and if you look will see that most of my posts are now done after 12 Midnight usually around 2 or 3. Myself, D-man and others do not look at what we do as a job or career, it is our life and our passion. We do this to give back to a community and industry that has provided us with the ability to wake up every day and look forward to getting to our studios so we can spend time with our friends. Plus, I look at the amazing life that my clients helped provide for me over the past 24 years and it humbles me greatly to be given such a gift.
I had written another response before this and decided that I would not compromise myself or my friends integrity. We do not need to justify our way of life to you nor will I. In fact I feel for you and though you have irritated me a bit it is apparent that you must have something in you or your life that causes you to break down others. Steffi, I personally, do this not because I want something back or because I am a great guy. I do this because I reached a point in my life that taking simply did work for me anymore and though I had what seemed to be the life I dreamed. I had forgot one thing, to give back.
I will chalange you with this....you seem to want to judge me personally. Well, I will say that I have deserved that judgment in the past. If you have are so bent on judging me then do it in person. You can come to the studio and have anything you would like, on me, no charge...( the rest of you don't start insulting me to get the same offer :)... After that I will buy you lunch at a restaurant of your choice if you like and you can ask me anything you want or call me anything you want if you so wish.
Then if you still have an issue with me,or what we do here well I guess we are at a bit of a cross roads but I have done my part. I would do this for one reason, anyone who reaches out to attack someone else is usually in a great deal of pain themselves on some level. I am sorry if this is the case but this is not a valid way of dealing with it.
I have made my offer the rest is up to you.....cheers

Douglas, I really appreciate all your very userful comments and advice. I ALWAYS read what you have to say about hair and I'm very grateful that there is someone so knowledgeable in HK who understands hair, especially western hair.
I have also noticed that you quite often write to queries way past midnight, when you should be getting some sleep. I guess there's no pleasing some people, but please don't let a sarcastic comment from Steffie upset you. I'm kind of hoping she was joking, as surely she can't be serious.
The time and effort you put into replying to people's queries is definitely appreciated and I think there are many people in HK who will agree with me.

SG,
thank you very much I really appreciate each of you and all of the support you offer. I know that I am bit unusual for HK and I really never intended to have this grow the way it has but there simply was a need. I was blessed to have been given the education and I probably did not even deserve it to be honest . You know, I did not always share these things either out of insecurity or greed. I share what I can nowbecause people far better than myself took the time to help a spoiled, immature little kid, learn and grow even when I did not appreciate it. I owe those people every effort I can give now because in truth I did not put much effort in then. I wish my motivation was from a beautiful, warm and fuzzie past...not so much. I am just old enough now to understand that the life I had was a gift, not something I was owed. All any of us can do in life is try and help those around us if we really want true happiness...me,I gotta lot of catching up to to. Thank you for helping on that journey...cheers
Hey, Steffi.........I hope I was not to hard on you, its really the old me I was talking to...do me a favor, give me a shout and come in on me. I hate friction and love doing hair, it would be my pleasure.

try Jonathan or Patrick at Hippfish on Staunton Street, they're incredibly talented, pay attention to what you want, and are lovely to talk to.
