Under-eye concealer
Posted by Witley (1675 days ago)
Help - serious Uncle Fester situation happening here...
Can anyone recommend a good eye-bag/dark circles concealer? Currently using YSL's Touche Eclat but I heard that there's a 'camera-friendly' concealer available that won't show up on photos as obvious shiny white semi-circles.

Witley, there's 3 colors of 'Touche' have you tried all of them?
Other than that, try a professional make up artiste, they have very good ideas.
Email me if you want the name of one.

i thought touche eclat is supposed to be good? I have tried IPL on the face and it is great for dark circles.

BALZAC - can you please let us know where you did your IPL, how many treatments, approximate cost and the results??
Did you target certain areas/features?
I am curious if it works, and if so how many treatments are needed for results and what the cost might be.
Thanks looking fwd to your reply.

I am in Singapore. IPL beauty secrets in Far East Shopping Ctr (next to Zara).
1st time trial is SGD100. Subsequent ones at SGD 200. If you buy a package it's SGD 800 for 5 times.
I did it only 2 times (coz I dont usually spend that much on my face, felt the pinch). My intent was to treat diffuse facial redness.
If still interested drop me a message and will give you details.

Thanx for all your replies. Yep, Touche Eclat sort of does the trick (especially blending the different tones they do) BUT it shows up in photos taken using a flash. Honestly, unless the photography's professionally done, you can usually spot people wearing the stuff as there's a sort of crescenty shaped white shine under the eyes. I remember reading some article giving details of one particular product that promises not to show up in photos but oaf that I am, I've lost it. Oh well, maybe I'll save up for IPL. Thanks again.

Hmm I noticed the white under eye shine thing in many of JLo's pics. That must be the concealer?

Amateur photographer's tip: the reason some women look totally bizarre in photos shot with a flash (and no diffuser or reflector) is because of the powder issue -- the most common mistake made is to dust powder over the face and forget the neck or chest, which is why so many women in the 'paparazzi' pix look ghostly white. The light simply reflects differently off powdered vs non-powdered skin.
If your undereye concealer is showing up (and I must be perfectly honest, I swear to god I have NEVER noticed that in any photos, but maybe I wasn't looking out for it!), I'd suspect you are either using too light a shade to begin with, or you aren't blending it sufficiently, or you are using too much of it, or you are dusting powder over it (which is why it comes up 'white' in photos).

Taking a B vitamin can help with dark circles,as well as the usual advice of drinking more water as my doc said they can be caused by kidney and liver toxins. Failing that, the best concealer ever is Boots No 7.. even better than Clarins, Estee Lauder etc.

I thought the bum cream was recommended for puffy eyes not dark circles??

Think you're right Chica. All I know is that it smells a lot better than Prep H.

One of my girlfriend is a make up artist and he thinks Laua Mercier is the best concealer. I am verry happy with it!

Does anyone know where the YSL Touch Eclat is sold in HK? Cathy Pacific no longer have it available from their Duty Free catalogue.
Thanks

Bobbie Brown "eye brightener" is brilliant. Takes a minute or to absorbing but then doesn't show.
