Where can you buy a Sari?

I think that it is called a Sari. (A traditional indian dress) Anyways, I am looking for a Sari (good quality) for a special event. Anyone know of any shops or tailors in Hong Kong where I could get one? Thanks in advance

you can try "indian Emporium" in TST, Carnavon road (i guess, not sure), or there are many shops in Mirador Mansion. U will definitely find it there. u can ask the shopowners for other parts like blouse and petticoat.

a sari is just 6 yards of fabric, often chiffon or silk, wrapped around a long cotton petticoat. they are really tricky to walk in if you are not used to them. The other indian dress that you may be referring to is a salwar kameez, this is a tunic and pants, with a long drapy scarf.
Sanskrit on Hollywood road is great, but SO bloody expensive. Get some fabric and get a tailor to make one up, or buy a long dress and some pants.
There are a few tailors around, try asking in Chunking mansions on Nathan Road.

India emporium is a good option as above.
Reevaj at Mirador Mandion is also a good bet, they have a larger variety of styles of Indian clothes. Salwaars might be a better option for you if you don't know how to wear a sari. They also have lenghas -- a long skirt with a short top.
Saris are bloody complicated, even for Indian women! Involves pinning in various places so it doesn't slip off/ come undone ...
If you're willing to pay the price, Sanskrit also has really nice stuff..
