Hi i have two business im setting up and need logos and brand designs businees cards etc, I am just doing business from home so dont want to spend a fortune, surely there must be a small outfit in HK someone can reccomend

I did it through odesk. I paid 15 USD for the logo design. Post a job and hire a contractor as per your needs.

The term caveat emptor applies when attempting to pay a third-world individual a few dollars to come up with a brand design to represent ones business. Do you really want to whatever results from such a transaction, to represent your company?

i used 99designs you pitch your project as a compeition and designers that want to try out compete with designs, you work with them, shortlist, redfine and then select a winner. the winner gets the "prize" a predefined minimum amount which you can increase, the more you offer the more designers you get interested

99Designs is also absolutely not a good way to get you quality logo or branding. You get two choices from that site - works from students, or works from scammers from the 3rd world. For former is fine if you can attract them, risk from them are designs that do not match the brand. The latter is worse, risk from them are designs that absolutely do not match your brand (since they're always in a hurry to participate in as many contests as they can), and usually also rips other designs (so you're at risk of copyright infringement).
