Looking for a contractor cum designer for a small scale apt.Immediate advise is needed. Someone reliable and reasonable and honest. Work needs to be completed on time and efficiently. Please advise help thanks!!

Make sure you get references before you engage any contractor and also make sure you check with the relevant authorities (like EMSD) to see if they are licensed. Haven't worked with JAR, had Kong Ah do some work who were good but a little late. Watch out for Wolfgang Derler at WPE.

Hettich is Wolfgang from WP Engineering without a doubt...he admitted it on another thread on the site.
We used Wolgang Derler and his company WP Engineering Limited on our renovation project and it was an unmitigated nightmare! It was so bad that we had to literally get the whole project re done. They installed windows without safety and stay bars which resulted in one of the windows being ripped off it's hinges and falling to the ground. Luckily no one was hurt. The police are currently investigating WP Engineering. He also performed electrical works in our flat even though he is not an authorized electrical contractor with the EMSD. He did not provide the required WR1 form upon completion of the work despite repeated requests for it. The EMSD is currently investigating him and there is a hearing later in the year.

wolfgang is a fraud. he's a classic fraudster. he'll quote low to get the job, and rip you off. i don't usually post things like this, but this is so egregious that i want to warn other consumers.

Anyone looking for a contractor, please stay away from Wolfgang who owns WP Enginnering. He's a crook. You'll be ripped off and with very dodgy work. Stay away. It was a nightmare for me. Apartment 50% complete, had to fire him after 6 months (even though he was meant to be all done in 3 months) and ended up changing my locks.
Stay away from WPE

Splendor was referred by a friend who did there baby room with design and paint child safe , licensed contractor , so my elgin street soho very small apartment needed work WHY ? lamma island guy ran off with money and stop construction uncompleted ! , so they referred roofing guy they came up and measured apartment how and what i should do they gave me valuable info and told me the ins and outs of a construction jobs in HK, they saved me over $20000 dollars which i was just about to hand over to anther renovation guy, they helped out 2.5 hours hours and charge me for only 1 hours $500 , so you do the math $10000 and only paid $500. and gave me alot of work , there painters charge $1100 for the day if you supply the material they also work odd hours for a little more, Sunday and night shifts to get the job done quickly

yep got a quote handy man stuff, good rate $500 will drill holes and mounted shelf we got a a furniture place in wan chai for us, planning to wall paper we buy the wall paper they come up and stick it on for us , pay when the jobs done ,

Just wanted to reiterate what has already been said about Wolfgang Derler from WPE Engineering. The guy is nothing but trouble. We essentially paid him to destroy our apartment, quality of life and peace of mind. A project that was supposed to deliver us the apartment of our dreams became a total nightmare. He also did illegal electrical works and the EMSD is on his case. Please stay well clear of him!

Received several phone calls from a Wolfgang Dercer of WPE Engineering yesterday night and the night before at 2am and during the early evening making nasty crank calls. He has also been sending me loads of insulting crank texts. Ive never met the man before, but it appears he is totally a mental case. Im going to report him to the Police.
