Political Chat: Yes it can impact Property

Why? HK's rates are tied & Rates are politically influenced

=====================

Before we talk about whether Dems or Reps will be good for Property prices in the US - and in HK - we do also need to talk about the current system and how it works.

Like many others, I see a need for Big changes, and as more people realise it, I think it becomes more likely that big changes are coming on the US political scene within the next 4-5 years. And maybe much sooner than that.

Don't kid yourself, and think that big changes in the US political process will have no impact on your property investments in HK.

They will, but the process is slow and complex. It is worth spending some time to discuss it here.

The candidates are irrelevant... http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/how_do_you_take_your_poison_20120924/

Chris Hedges argues that the candidates are irrelevant

EXCERPT

If you insist on participating in the cash-drenched charade of a two-party democratic election at least be clear about what you are doing. You are, by playing your assigned role as the Democratic or Republican voter in this political theater, giving legitimacy to a corporate agenda that means your own impoverishment and disempowerment. All the things that stand between us and utter destitution—Medicaid, food stamps, Pell grants, Head Start, Social Security, public education, federal grants-in-aid to America’s states and cities, the Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program (WIC), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and home-delivered meals for seniors—are about to be shredded by the corporate state. Our corporate oligarchs are harvesting the nation, grabbing as much as they can, as fast as they can, in the inevitable descent.

I am not sure that I agree with Hedges,

Since as Romney has pointed out, the Entitlement programs have been a great way for the Democrats to buy votes.

A better alternative for the country, would be to restore jobs, so you can use issues and arguments to buy votes, noit handouts.

Yet I agree both Parties are now focussed on seeking corporate donors - to get money - to use advertisements and light-weight spin to Buy votes.

But that system is breaking down, as people wise up, and stop paying attention to the ads.

That Video of Romney speaking at donors dinner has done more damage to his campaign than millions spent on TV ads. And the main damage was done by his own words, and his own attitudes.

That is what voters really want to know about !
