I might need to exchange about half mil AUD to HKD for property purchase, not a large amount by any means, so every little bit counts. Some advice please!
Also if there is a 101 guide for buying property in HK, please let me know where to find it. How long do you have between deciding on a particular property to when you have to pay all the money?

I got a quote from HSBC yesterday on changing USD > HKD.
At USD$100,000 or above. the spread was 0.27%
Below USD$100,000, it was 0.51%

I don't mean to doubt you, but it seems very odd that the lower amount has the lower spread?

I had it reversed.
It would be interesting to see what spreads people are seeing in their dealings with other banks
Just get the SELL rate and divide by the BUY rate, and subtract 1.
