Following the story of the current CE and all - I have just become aware of illegal structures - blatantly HUGE ones - in a row of houses in the Sai Kung area. They were built some time ago, and whoever turned a blind eye then must be in a very high up position in the Government now - because it is incredible how no one says anything!
I am curious, as a concerned citizen - how can one make sure that the laws are applied equally to every one? Why should some people get away with something like this whereas other have to pay thousands for a small shed on their rooftop?

The same laws should apply to everyone and be applied equally.
They are not - selective enforcement of laws preventing illegal structures, race based citizenship rights in the Basic Law, civil service pay and employment terms, New Territories village housing policy and probably a few other things. All these are wrong and should be fixed.
