Role As part of the Hedge Fund Services team, we seek a mature self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and team focus able to function in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment. You will add value by working on a number of simultaneous tasks/projects as part of a team or independently as required while paying special attention to detail.
This role will report to the Team Leader, Fund Administration - Hedge Fund Services.
The Key Responsibilities of the Role - Support multiple customers and business lines within a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Perform and oversee middle office functions related to all listed products - stocks, bonds, warrants, listed options and futures, foreign exchange, etc.
- Monitor trade posting & confirmation process and resolve any issue throughout the trade's lifecycle.
- Liaison between clients, prime brokers, exchanges and counterparties to ensure efficient resolution of breaks and open reconciling items to guarantee timely settlement.
- Proactively investigate breaks and settlement differences with internal and external partners, bringing issues to a timely resolution.
- Collaborate across shared service teams and other regions to improve the operational efficiencies by leveraging technology while ensuring industry best practices and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
- Assist in implementing technological advancements for the team in a controlled manner by documenting and testing necessary applications.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with co-workers, clients and vendors in a clear, thorough and concise manner
- Commitment to a team based working environment is absolutely essential.
Skills/Qualifications The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Solid knowledge and experience in exchange traded securities operations and foreign exchange operations
- Familiar with Asian markets as well as US & EMEA markets, in respect of the principles and market rules & regulations
- Experience with Omgeo Central Trade Manager Applications and SWIFT required.
- Exposure or knowledge of Corporate Actions is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an extremely time sensitive conditions
- Highly flexible, adaptable to change, excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and work with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial markets and instruments.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Economics or related discipline.
