Company Description

Our client, a well-established long-only fund house, is seeking an Investment Analyst to join their Asia equities team based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be focusing on ASEAN and India equities markets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of ASEAN and India equities to support the investment decision-making process. This includes analyzing financial statements, assessing industry trends, evaluating competitive dynamics, and identifying key drivers of company performance, as well conducting company visits / management interviews
  • Work closely with portfolio managers and other investment professionals to generate investment ideas, evaluate potential investments, and monitor the performance of existing holdings.
  • Stay updated on market developments, regulatory changes and geopolitical factors that may impact investment opportunities in ASEA and India equities markets
  • Monitor existing portfolio holdings and provide regular updates to portfolio managers. Identify risks and suggest suitable actions to optimize portfolio performance
  • Prepare written research reports, investment recommendations and presentations for external parties when required
  • Participate in various investment meetings to exchange ideas and to contribute to the overall investment process to ensure robust investment decision making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA designation is a plus)
  • At least three years of experience as an investment analyst, preferably with a focus on ASEAN and India equities
  • Strong understanding of fundamental equity analysis and valuation techniques
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex investment ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
