Position Summary
Responsible for assisting department head on discharging the Banks obligations in respect of financial accounting pursuant to relevant legal requirements, financial reporting standards, Listing Rules and HKMAs requirements; discharging other statutory obligations and monitoring compliance; provision of information for and support to results announcement; handling credit rating exercises; and provision of other back office supports.
Responsibilities
- deal with internal and external auditors in respect of system audit and statutory audit
- resolve financial accounting / accounting system / regulatory reporting related matters with internal departments
- monitor compliance with financial disclosure requirements set out in the Companies Ordinance, the Banking Ordinance, Banking (Disclosure) Rules, Part 6 of the Financial Institutions (Resolution) (Loss-absorbing Capacity Requirements – Banking Sector) Rules, Listing Rules, and Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards
- monitor compliance of the Groups accounts with accounting policy approved by the Banks Board of Directors
- monitor provision of regular management information and ad hoc information as required by the Management from time to time
- monitor compilation of statutory banking returns and various regular surveys, as well as providing ad hoc information, as required by the HKMA, from time to time
- monitor certain limitations as imposed under Parts XV of the Banking Ordinance, on CAR under the Banking (Capital) Rules and on LCR and NSFR under the Banking (Liquidity) Rules and on Leverage Ratio
- monitor compilation of Return of Relevant Deposit and Survey on Aggregate Relevant Deposit Balance, as required by the HK Deposit Protection Board
- monitor compilation of annual report pursuant to Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, Common Reporting Standard, and compilation of annual Country-by-Country Reporting
Requirements
- University graduate, preferably major in business, finance;
- HKICPA or equivalent professional qualifications;
- Over 8 years experience in banking / accounting / auditing covering the following:
- Sound knowledge in banking operations and accounting standards;
- Able to lead a team to ensure excellent services are provided;
- Good understanding of relevant Group policies, procedures, practices and rules;
- A team player with good communication skills and risk awareness;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
