DIRECTOR, COO OFFICE (ASSET MANAGEMENT)

An international asset management house is looking for a high calibre candidate to join as Director, COO Office. The position is based in Hong Kong.

Our client is an international asset management house with an unparalleled reputation across the Asia Pacific region. With the continued growth of the organization, the need has arisen to recruit a high calibre candidate to join their newly established APAC COO team.

Reporting to the APAC COO, this is a hybrid role providing tactical and strategic leadership for regional operations with a particular focus on Greater China and Singapore. The role combines three core elements:

  • Operational Oversight and coordination of COO functions (e.g. investment and client ops, internal audit, technology, corporate services, etc.) as part of the regional COO leadership team and working closely with regional leaders across COO, corporate functions, Investments, Distribution and Global Product.  
  • APAC Divisional Data Officer (DDO) Leading the Enterprise Data function in the region as the connecting enterprise data capabilities to support Asia-Pacific, diagnosing and solving regional data issues, and supporting the development and launch of new products.
  • COO General Management responsibilities in support of the Asia-Pacific COO and including activities such as business strategy, target operating model, organizational design, reporting, dashboards and metrics/KPIs/OKRs.

To be considered, you should be a degree holder with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience and a strong and versatile problem solver with strong business judgment and the ability to analyze highly complex facts or situations.  You should have risk awareness and oversight regarding the companys enterprise risk framework, with the ability to anticipate and respond to regulatory initiatives. In-depth knowledge of the market dynamics and cultural norms and prior experience in Hong Kong effectively leading and resolving complex operational issues and driving operational excellence would be an advantage.  Lastly, experience leading and working in Agile environments, ideally at scale but with the ability to flex as needed; Waterfall. Lean Six Sigma or related skills and experience would be a plus.
