VP Fixed Income Derivatives Lawyer

This role is based in HONG KONG. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP-level Fixed Income Derivatives Lawyer to join the in-house legal team at a large international securities firm in Hong Kong. This position is essential in supporting their business operations in the dynamic environment of fixed income derivatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Structuring: Lead the structuring and negotiation of fixed income derivatives transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice to internal stakeholders on fixed income products and derivatives, including risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to fixed income derivatives, ensuring clarity and legal integrity.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess legal risks associated with transactions and provide risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including trading, compliance, and operations, to facilitate successful transaction execution.
  • Regulatory Updates: Monitor changes in relevant regulations and advise the business on implications for fixed income derivatives.

Qualifications

  • LLB, LLM, JD or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal role focusing on fixed income derivatives within a financial services or securities firm.
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing fixed income derivatives.
  • Proven track record of structuring complex transactions.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
