Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize company's operations across Asia.
  • Provide tax structuring advice for M&A transactions, joint ventures, and other investment activities within the region.
  • Ensure compliance with all local tax regulations in jurisdictions such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
  • Oversee tax filings, audits, and reporting obligations across the region.
  • Partner with internal teams, including legal, finance, and investments, to ensure tax considerations are fully integrated into business decisions.
  • Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities as required.
  • Identify tax risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure Brookfield's operations are aligned with global tax standards and local regulations.
  • Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Requirements:
  • Professional qualifications (i.e. CPA) and degrees in taxation or accounting are highly preferred.
  • 10-15 years of tax experience, with a mandatory background in M&A/Transaction Tax within a Big 4 firm.
  • Candidates currently in Private Equity with significant Asia Tax coverage will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax structuring for M&A transactions.
  • Strong integrity and ethical mindset.
  • Strong control awareness and ability to take a global view on issues.
  • Strong analytical skills & detail oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to work and obtain results under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and excellent communication skills required.
