About the team
Industry Research Department (IRD) supports our customer business strategy based on in-depth and extensive industry and customer-related information and knowledge. IRD support customers in industry analysis, strategy consultancy and business creation. IRD has presence in Japan (Tokyo), China(Hong Kong, Shanghai), Singapore, Americas(New York) and Europe(London, Frankfurt).
Role requirements
- To support IRD in gathering various information and providing advice to companies and state authorities in the region (mainly Greater China and Japan plus other Asian countries if necessary)
- To comprehend the basic trends in industries through discussions with customers and industry specialists and research activities
- To identify the needs of clients and provide professional strategic solution
- To have meetings with clients throght business trips (1-2 times per month to mainly Greater China)
- To establish and utilize network with related parties such as Mizuho Group related divisions and/or branches and third party professional service providers, etc.
- To closely collaborate with the team members for work process enhancement
Essential Functions
The individual follows the policy and direction of the department and assists superiors in accomplishing the departments overall duties and responsibilities at all time.
Competencies
- We are looking for an individual who should be able to work independently or in a team.
- The individual should be able to judge priority among tasks and makes practical scheduling and time management to complete tasks before deadline.
- The individual should be able to effectively negotiate with his/her external/internal counterparties to executive regular tasks. He/she is an excellent team player and has an innovative spirit.
- He/she should respect for, and commit to high standards of business conduct and integrity.
Work experience, education and skills
- Degree holder;
- Minimum 3 years working experience for a financial industry or research jobs;
- Research experience for Chinese industry and/or Materials & Chemical industry preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese (N1), English and Chinese;
- Independent, hardworking and willing to work under pressure;
- Knowledge in MS Office.
