We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Internal Control Manager to oversee compliance and control functions related to virtual asset initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in regulatory frameworks governing virtual assets, strong internal control acumen, and a proactive mindset to ensure all digital partnerships and offerings align with industry standards and strategic business goals.
Your new role - Drive the development and execution of internal control policies and procedures for virtual asset products and services
- As 1.5 Lod to collaborate proactively with the business units and the Compliance department.
- Monitor regulatory developments in the virtual asset space-particularly from HKMA, SFC, and other relevant authorities-including AML/KYC, stablecoins, and tokenized assets.
- Act as the primary interface for regulatory authorities, external auditors, and third-party providers regarding virtual asset compliance and control matters.
- Lead quality assurance programs for virtual asset operations, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Investigate compliance breaches, risk exposures, and other control-related matters in coordination with relevant internal departments.
- Establish and maintain rigorous AML/KYC controls for client onboarding and ongoing due diligence within virtual asset services.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders and collaborate with internal and external parties-including Risk, Legal, and Compliance-to ensure digital platform partnerships are fully compliant and strategically aligned.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of risk and control activities, including detailed audit trails and records for traceability and reporting.
- Tackle ad hoc assignments and compliance/control-related projects as directed.
What you'll need to succeed - Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Compliance, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Requires 5-7 years of risk/compliance/internal control experience in virtual assets. Relevant working experience from Banking is a must.
- Solid understanding of Hong Kong's regulatory landscape related to virtual assets.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Strong team player equipped with excellent writing and presentation capabilities.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
