Job Purpose:
• Advise all legal matters and draft / review all general legal documentation of all group companies of Dah Sing Financial Holdings Limited ("Group").
• Identify, analyze and manage legal risks and provide legal advice to Management of those risks.
• Manage Group's litigation and liaise with external lawyers.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support to the Legal Counsel and the broader legal department in its day-to-day operations.
• Deliver professional legal advice, services, and support to various business and operational units across the Group.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
• Advise on and manage legal disputes, including complaints, litigation, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
• Oversee relationships with external counsel and legal service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality support.
• Act as a key liaison with law enforcement and regulatory agencies (e.g., police, ICAC), facilitating investigations and information requests.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Group's legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
• Monitor and analyze new legislation and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the Group and its subsidiaries, and recommending necessary actions.
• Provide dedicated legal support and guidance on special projects and other ad-hoc initiatives as required.
Requirements:
Professional Qualification
Qualified solicitor / barrister of Hong Kong with at least 1- 2 years Post Qualification Experience and preferably, some experience in the legal department of a financial institution or regulatory authority.
Education
Degree holder with relevant professional qualification and ability to write Chinese.
Functional / Technical Competencies
• Self- motivated and independent;
• Ability to supervise fellow professionals;
• Good analytical skills, interpersonal and communication skills
• Good knowledge and awareness of the development of legal industry / services;
• Good knowledge of banking and security related legislations;
• Good knowledge of banking operations and products / services generally offered by a consumer bank;
• Ability to carry out Chinese drafting.
