Key Functions and Responsibilities

As a member of the APAC Sales Team, the successful candidate will contribute to new and existing business development with both clients and prospects and deepening existing relationships whilst delivering on FTSE Russell and LSEG's strategic objectives. Based in Hong Kong, with coverage across Asia ex Japan ex Pacific, the individual will be responsible for FTSE Russell's sell side relationships, including mostly Banks and Broker Dealers, Hedge funds and Market makers. We are seeking an expert sales specialist who is familiar with the design and attributes of index solutions used by sell side clients in various jurisdictions across the region.

You will engage in all facets of the sales cycle-from market analysis and prospecting to account management and senior-level relationship building. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape the future of our Index product strategy. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across FTSE Russell's Global Index Sales, Product, Research, and Marketing teams to deliver tailored, client-centric solutions.

Key responsibilities

Business Development:
  • Build senior relationships with key partners within the sell side ecosystem.
  • Identify client requirements and position FTSE Russell as a strategic partner
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Product Expertise:
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our products, including equity, fixed income, ESG, and custom indexes, as well as solid understanding about different licensing frameworks for Product creation, including OTC and non-OTC licenses and about different instruments traded in the market by brokers dealers, market makers and hedge funds.
  • Developing client centric solutions to maximise penetration of products across a variety of asset classes and customer segments.
Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with regional teams to share insights, align strategies, and support cross-regional opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Establish customer feedback loop, assuring a two-way dialogue for new product generation and thought leadership.
  • Track and report sales activities, pipeline progress, and client feedback using CRM tools.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales / new business development within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of the sell side space across Asia ex Japan, direct existing relationships a must have.
  • Significant experience of Indexes and products solutions as well as strong knowledge of standard products on the market (STP, swaps, derivatives, etc...) .
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Superior communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Motivated and able to thrive in a targeted sales environment!
