Your new company A leading financial institution is looking for a Head of Trading Operations with deep expertise in derivatives operations and project management.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience overseeing trading workflows, driving strategic initiatives, and leading cross-functional teams to enhance derivatives infrastructure and operational efficiency.
Your new role
Oversee and manage the end-to-end operations of derivatives trading activities, including futures and options, ensuring seamless execution and timely resolution of operational issues.
Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and internal operational standards.
Respond swiftly to operational contingencies, enforce escalation protocols, and act in alignment with established governance frameworks.
Champion operational excellence by continuously enhancing systems, workflows, policies, and control mechanisms.
Lead project management efforts to design and implement new systems that strengthen trading, clearing, and risk management capabilities.
Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to support the rollout of new products and strategic initiatives.
Foster cross-functional collaboration between business units, IT teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of innovations.
Build and lead a high-performing operations team, with a strong focus on talent development, employee engagement, and retention.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory trends and best practices in derivatives market operations.
Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and professional associations to support strategic alignment and compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Over 15 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 8 years in senior management roles within reputable financial institutions.
Possesses deep expertise in derivatives products-particularly futures and options-with strong familiarity with market practices, regulatory frameworks, and trading platforms. Broader exposure to a diverse range of derivative instruments is considered an asset.
Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing high-pressure situations, multitasking effectively, and adapting to evolving priorities.
Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is considered an advantage.
