We are seeking a highly motivated Associate or Analyst to join our Corporate Finance Team in Hong Kong
Key Responsibilities
1. Transaction Execution (M&A, Acquisition Finance)
- Support execution of cross-border M&A and leveraged finance transactions
- Prepare investment committee materials, credit memos (including financial and legal analysis), and lender presentations
- Develop and review detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, cash-flow projections, debt sizing and sensitivity analysis)
- Assist in structuring acquisition financing transactions, including TLA/TLB and other senior debt facilities
- Coordinate with internal teams (Seoul HQ) and external advisors (investment banks, law firms, accounting firms)
2. Sponsor & Client Coverage Support
- Support deal sourcing efforts and relationship management with financial sponsors and Korean corporates
- Review CIMs, process letters and transaction documentation
- Conduct industry research and preliminary screening of investment opportunities
3. Reporting & Internal Coordination
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports in response to Head Office and internal stakeholder requests
- Draft materials in Korean and English for internal approval processes
- Ensure timely and structured communication between KDB Asia and Seoul HQ
4. Post-Closing Monitoring & Portfolio Management
- Support post-closing management of executed transactions
- Monitor financial covenants and compliance requirements
- Prepare ongoing credit updates and internal reports
- Assist in portfolio review and risk monitoring activities
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in:
- Investment bank (M&A/leveraged finance)
- Commercial bank (corporate finance/acquisition finance)
- Accounting firm (FDD/valuation)
- Asset management or private credit
- Ability to independently manage workstreams under senior supervision
- Hands-on experience in M&A and/or acquisition financing transactions preferred
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and basic legal concepts in financing documentation
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling), PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to draft professional documents in Korean (including HWP) and English
- High attention to detail and ability to work under tight timelines
Language Requirements
- Native-level Korean (mandatory)
- Native or professional fluency in English (Written and spoken)
- Mandarin is a plus
Education
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics from a top-ranked or reputable university
- CFA or other relevant professional qualification is a plus
