To be responsive and be able to tackle with the challenges of maintaining a healthy and stable markets, today's practitioners in the financial service industry must possess quantitative and business know-how to manage the financial instruments and inter-bank dynamics. The MSc Programme in Financial Engineering coordinated by the Centre for Financial Engineering is set to fulfil such a societal demand of talents.
The Centre is looking for a high calibre to serve as Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Professional Consultant for teaching and supporting the co-curricular developments for the MSc Programme. The major working location will be in Shenzhen.
Applicants should (i) possess at least a Masters degree from a reputable University; (ii) have a minimum of six years' post-qualification work experience related to finance; (iii) have a good connection with the professional communities in both Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland; and (iv) be able to contribute in classroom setting on industry-related subjects. Appointee will be placed at an appropriate level subject to academic qualifications and working experiences. Appointee possesses a doctoral degree and substantial professional experience in established organizations may be awarded a courtesy title of Professor of Practice / Associate Professor of Practice in Financial Engineering, when applicable.
The appointee is expected to:
(a) teach practice-oriented Financial Engineering courses for the MSc Programme;
(b) serve as students' career advisors; and assist the Programme Director in preparation of the annual job placement report and maintain the alumni network;
(c) liaise with industry practitioners, and manage the industrial mentorship programme for students;
(d) invite guest speakers, and arrange guest lectures, company visits, student competitions, and other experiential learning activities for the students;
(e) liaise with companies for industrial-type projects and internships for students;
(f) assist the Centre Director in applying industrial research grants; and
(g) any other duties assigned by the Programme Director.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one to two years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. The commencement of the appointment shall be for academic year 2026 and the start date can be negotiated.
