Job Opportunity: Product Risk Specialist - Private Wealth Management
Are you passionate about risk governance, product due diligence, and ensuring strong controls within a fast‑paced wealth management environment? Join our Asia Private Wealth Management (AWM) Business Control Unit as part of the Product Risk team, serving as the first line of defense for product governance, trade approval, and asset transfer oversight.
What You Will Do As a Product Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for comprehensive risk oversight across product approvals and asset transfers. Your day‑to‑day work will include:
Asset Transfer Oversight
- Review, assess, and approve complex or bespoke client asset transfer requests.
- Conduct independent investigations by collaborating with front‑office teams and control functions.
- Escalate key issues to management or second line of defense when required.
Product Governance & Due Diligence
- Support product due diligence across all asset classes-including equities, fixed income, structured products, OTC derivatives, and discretionary portfolio products.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and implement necessary controls across products and transfers.
- Maintain accurate product information, features, and risk ratings in internal and client‑facing systems.
Risk Management & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with trading desks, Legal & Compliance, and other stakeholders to strengthen product risk governance.
- Assist in regular committee meetings, product risk rating reviews, and governance workflow support.
- Contribute to new business initiatives by evaluating risk and control requirements.
What You Bring We're looking for a motivated and knowledgeable professional with:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of private banking experience in a first‑line risk/control function.
- Strong experience reviewing asset transfer requests, including considerations of fraud, AML, anti‑tax evasion, and related controls.
- Solid product knowledge across multiple asset classes and derivatives (listed & OTC).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements from HKMA, SFC, and MAS.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred.
- Experience with data analytics tools and Bloomberg is an advantage.
