Helper asking for additional money

Hi,

I have a case of a terminated helper who is asking for lodging and boarding money which she initially agreed will be managed by her .

There is a diff of 15days from her visa issue date to her employment start date with me . Asking money for 15 days .

Is it a rule I need to start paying her expenses the moment her visa is issued even though she isn't working with us officially ? I did request her to go back home and come and was happy to sponsor a tkt , however she made excuses and was ready to manage on her own .

Please advice .
