Air Ticket Brain Freeze

Found a post earlier that answered some of my queries, but can't find it again!! So sorry for those who've posted their suggestions/answers before.

Helper didn't leave HK after she finished contract with previous employer. We took helper out of HK in her first year with us, so visa all valid.

She is now at the end of her 1st contract with her and doesn't want to go back home for the 2 weeks that we owe her.

Need some help with the following queries:

1. Am I correct in thinking that for each contract that we sign with her, we owe her a RETURN trip back home? If she doesn't return at the end of this contract, we need to pay her equivalent of a RETURN trip back home.

2. When we took her out of HK during her first year, we paid for her to come with us to Malaysia for a holiday. If she needs to exit HK again for the 2nd contract, who is responsible for the travel costs to Shenzhen/Macau (know it's minimal, but just want to know, as I may not necessarily go with her).

Thank you!

PE

1. You are correct. You need to pay her trip TO you from her home and FROM you to her home (or the equivalent in money). Note that this means door to door, not just the flight.

2. I guess that would be her. But as an employer I would still pay for it.

my understanding has been that the helper has to not only just EXIT HK for each contract, but she has to go back to her home country for a vacation leave of no less than 7 days at the end of each contract (or within the first year afterwards). am i right? if so, how could a holiday in Malaysia or a day trip to Shenzen/Macau work for that purpose?

sorry to hijack the post, but i'm really curious to know.

I am in the exact same situation as you, but we are going away for the summer so sending our helper back to the Phils for 2 weeks while we are away. Her contract runs out in September so I'm hoping this trip counts as her annual leave. Will it?? She also says she needs to get something from the Phils Consulate to allow her to re-enter HK, anyone know what that is?
