My helper has been working for me for 1 year, and she is doing ok.

Yesterday she asked for pay rise for next year

I wonder how much of a rise is normal? Thanks

My helper did quite well but she ask for a pay rise too.
I think $500 is adequate.

I would only raise her during the contract renewal. Ad hoc pay rise requests will only go badly. Also consider COLA plus a few per cent when considering pay rises.
