Hi All,

New to the forum and moving to HK soon, want to get acquainted with how apartment rentals work in the city.

Understand through friends that apartment rentals in Central (Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, etc.) are quite expensive for studio/1br. So surprised to see listings for seemingly decent apartments going for around 8000HKD/mo in the area:
https://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/property/apartments-for-rent/5d134bca-e1b3-4fc3-a42e-ab956eb2f645
https://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/property/apartments-for-rent/5c952d06-e746-4489-9065-1c6c5b37c4aa

Additionally, there seems to be no corporate RE company attached to the listings, with phone numbers provided for "agents", ex. Ada 2838 0320.

Wondering if these listings are legit? How can I go about finding a suitable apartment to rent?

Thanks!

Sad to say but these do look legit --- the apartment sizes are 150sf and 160sf respectively.

Similar in size to a car park space...

Larger cars are an issue when the size of the parking spot is fixed. Automobile associations warn of this issue. A Swiss Association regulating parking space wants to consider this issue for 2016. In the United Kingdom the recommended standard Parking bay size is 2.4 metres (7.9 ft) wide by 4.8 metres (16 ft) long.
