Info on helper getting back to HK from Philippines

Our helper went to the Philippines a couple weeks ago for a funeral and now 'cannot' get back to Hong Kong. Does anyone have information or experience about travelling to a 3rd destination to get back? Has this worked for anyone? Not particularly interested in conjecture -- please reply if you have knowledge or experience with this. thanks in advance!
