Hi, I have recently left my employer, the employer arranged for my work visa which will expire on 21 Aug 2018 ( I will be due to claim PR in Sep of this year). Now that I am no longer employed does the work visa effectively expire or is it still valid until the expiration date of Aug 2018? Or will my new employer need to arrange for a new work visa on my behalf?

If I'm not mistaken, your work visa expires 3 weeks after termination of employment.

your new employer will have to arrange a new work visa on behalf of you if they have offered a job. Your previous employer informed the immigration department when you left.
