Employer in BJ to cut salary for maternity leave. Is it legal?

Hi,


I have just announced to my employer that I am pregnant. Since my contract just finished they are proposing a renewal BUT with only 40% of my salary arguing that the chinese law is not clear on foreign female rights regarding maternity leave in China. I do have a vald working permit, the company I work for is foreign and I am based in Beijing.


Can anyone advise me on this?

They have the right to cancel my working visa if I am not working for them anymore... Though I am not sure if they will do it. Is it even legal to add. This reduction of salary during after maternity leave on a contract? Thanks
