Moving proceeds from overseas home sale to HK

Hi all,

 

I'm thinking of selling my pace in NY, and move the proceeds from the sale to HK. (would like to buy a place here)

 

 

Was wondering if anyone has done it before would have any advice.

 

 

Is there any special paper work needed for the IRS when moving a large amount of money from the US to Hong Kong?

 

 

What's the best way to transfer it, via SWIFT?

 

 

And will the HK bank need documentation for the large deposit, etc....
