Single Lady with a small house, can I hire a live in domestic helper?

Hi, I am a single woman, leaving here in HK for about a year now.. I am a teacher in secondary school.. With a very busy and demanding job, I wish to hire a full time helper. My problem is I have a small flat (about 390sq. Ft) since im just living alone. Would the hk immigration allow me to hire one? I need someone to look after me and my home especially cooking and ironing my clothes.

One more thing, My visa is only 1 year now, my contract is two years, living here for about a year now I only have another year left... Would this be an issue, since domestic helpers has two years in their contract?

Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated... Thank you!

Why not share with someone, who will clean in return for accommodation?

To hire a helper they have to have a place to sleep with privacy. If your flat is 330 sq ft, you will need to show she had a room with a door/ They may ask for photos for proof. If you state she will share a room with you on the contract, you will be rejected. look for local part time help at the government website called smart living residents/employment/recruitment/localdomestichelper.htm Good luck

Thank you guys for your replies... my flat has 2 rooms, one comfort room and a kitchen... since I have two rooms, she could stay in the other room..
