Visa free travel to Cheng Du China return to Macau?

Hi, I am a UK passport holder looking to fly to Chengdu visa free. This involves flying from Hong Kong to Chengdu but then flying into a 3rd port.

Does Macau qualify as that third port?

Obviously Macau is a lot easier than say Bangkok.
