About the job

Our client is a leading investment bank in Hong Kong. They are looking for a MO operation analyst to support the equity swaps-related product.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise daily trade support activities for the equity swap trading desk to ensure all control reports and exceptions are resolved quickly.
  2. Partner with Trading, Trader Assistants, Product Control, and Market Risk to investigate and resolve internal or external queries.
  3. Collaborate with the Project and IT teams on new business initiatives and User Acceptance Testing sessions.
  4. Challenge existing operational procedures actively and suggest enhancements to improve workflow efficiency.
  5. Monitor regulatory requirements closely and maintain strict alignment with the Regulatory Control team.
  6. Engage with Internal Audit and Risk teams to ensure all operational control processes remain relevant.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or an equivalent discipline.
  2. Possess 4+ years of relevant experience within a trade support or middle office operations function.
  3. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Asian equity markets, ETFs, and equity derivative products like equity swaps.
  4. Maintain a high risk and control mindset that aligns with enterprise risk management frameworks.
  5. Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving skills based on data to drive accurate decision-making.
  6. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with experience managing relationships with traders.
  7. Speak fluent Cantonese or Putonghua to effectively interact with stakeholders in Asian markets.
  8. Work effectively as a team player who can also operate independently under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
