Our client is a global bank who is looking for an experience operational risk candidate to join their team, working closely with the Head of Operational risk, based in Hong Kong. The management of operational risk is a key business priority for the Company and is vital to the successful delivery of the firm’s strategy. The regional Operational Risk Team is an independent risk management group (second line of defence) overseeing and ensuring risk management at the Firm level.

Responsibilities

The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the operational risk management framework within the organization. This role helps identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks across various business units.

  2. Reporting & Documentation
  3. Process Improvement
  4. Stakeholder Management

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum Degree from an accredited University.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in risk management or control function within an investment bank.
  3. Experience and understanding of operational risk management principles and frameworks along with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  4. Product knowledge of Equity Derivatives, Prime Brokerage and Cash Equity.
  5. Knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and trading strategies specific to Asia markets.
  6. Professional certifications e.g. FRM, CRM, PRM of CSIA would be advantageous.
  7. Familiarity with electronic trading, OMS/EMS, FIX protocol, and trading protocols.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  9. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
