Derivatives Lawyer (Foreign Bank)

Your new company
We have been mandated by a leading foreign bank to support the expansion of its global securities finance business across the Asia-Pacific region, and are seeking a Derivatives Lawyer to join the team.

Your new role

• Provide legal support for derivatives transactions, covering both OTC and exchange-traded products
• Draft, review, and negotiate ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, confirmations, and other trading and financing documentation
• Review and negotiate a broad spectrum of trading and financing agreements, ensuring alignment with business and risk objectives
• Advise on regulatory requirements relating to derivatives trading, including cross-border considerations
• Handle legal matters relating to structured products, hedging arrangements, and complex financial instruments
• Work closely with front office, risk, compliance, and operations teams to support product development and transaction execution
• Drive cross-border tax coordination by supporting global tax analysis, drafting transaction fact patterns, and managing engagement with internal teams and external advisors

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong knowledge of financial markets and the asset management industry
• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong
• 5-10 years of PQE
• Familiarity with HK SFC regulatory frameworks and application compliance requirements
• Experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial and financial agreements
• Experience working in multinational environments with cross-border exposure
