Your new role
As a Business Risk Manager, you will act as a key partner to the business, supporting the implementation and enhancement of the operational risk and control framework across the private banking platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct business risk assessments and identify key operational, regulatory and conduct risks.
- Review and enhance risk and control frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Perform control monitoring, thematic reviews and risk reporting activities.
- Investigate incidents, control breaches and operational risk events, ensuring timely remediation and escalation.
- Partner with Front Office, Compliance, Operations and other control functions on governance and risk initiatives.
- Coordinate regulatory, audit and internal control reviews and track remediation actions.
- Support new product approvals, change initiatives and risk impact assessments.
- Prepare management information, risk dashboards and committee materials for senior stakeholders.
- Drive risk culture awareness and provide guidance on governance and control best practices.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Risk, Operational Risk, First Line Risk & Control, Internal Control, Compliance or Audit within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of private banking, wealth management and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in risk assessments, control testing, governance and incident management.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Professional certifications such as FRM, CAMS, CPA, CFA or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Fluent English is required; Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be beneficial.
