Junior Risk Officer - Tier-1 Multi-Strat Quant Hedge Fund | Hong Kong

I am working exclusively with a Top-Tier Multi-Strategy Quantitative Hedge Fund in Hong Kong, who are seeking to hire a Junior Risk Officer to join its fast-growing team. This is a front-office-aligned risk role within a systematic investment environment, suited to someone looking to transition into a more hands-on, high-responsibility seat.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the hire will support the oversight of portfolio risk across multiple systematic strategies.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Daily portfolio risk monitoring across quant strategies
2. Factor exposure analysis and systematic risk decomposition
3. Cross-strategy risk aggregation
4. Stress testing and scenario analysis
5. Liquidity and concentration analysis
6. Drawdown monitoring and risk limit oversight
7. Intraday risk monitoring where required
8. Supporting portfolio construction discussions from a risk perspective
9. Interaction with portfolio managers and trading teams
10. Development and refinement of internal risk frameworks and controls
11. Preparation of investor-facing risk analytics and reporting
12. The position offers meaningful exposure to PM and decision-making processes, with scope to grow as the platform evolves.

Candidate Profile

1. 1-5 years' experience from the buy-side, a systematic investment platform, MSCI/Barra, or a comparable risk analytics environment
2. Demonstrated interest in financial markets, hedge funds, and quantitative investment strategies;
3. Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar)
4. Understanding of factor models, portfolio construction, and portfolio-level risk analytics
5. Proficiency working with data and analytical tools; programming experience (Python preferred; R, MATLAB or similar also relevant)
6. High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a disciplined approach to process and documentation
7. Comfortable operating in a lean, performance-driven environment
8. Fluency in English
