Job Description

As Assistant Manager in the compliance team, your main responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and guidelines, including those relating to AML, counter-financing of terrorism and data privacy.
• Oversee customer due diligence process and liaising with relevant business units.
• Conducting compliance risk assessments and reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Providing guidance and training to internal teams on compliance-related matters.
• Reviewing and updating internal policies to ensure alignment with regulatory changes.
• Supporting the Legal department in addressing compliance-related queries and issues.
• Collaborating with external regulators and auditors as needed.
• Preparing compliance reports and documentation for management review.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate should have:

• A degree in Law, Business, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant compliance experience.
• Knowledge of compliance principles and regulatory requirements within the insurance industry.
• Experience with CDD/KYC review, EDD, sanctions/PEP screening, risk assessment, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
