Associate/VP/Director - Securities Lending (SBL) Trader

A well-established Asian securities house with a growing Hong Kong markets platform is expanding its Securities Borrowing and Lending desk, with flexibility to bring in talent at Associate, VP or Director level. This is a chance to help build out a stock loan franchise from a position of real influence, shaping broker and custodian relationships rather than just executing against an inherited book.

What you'll do:

1. Run the full SBL trade lifecycle: execution, rolling, recalls and settlement, tracking market rates, supply-demand dynamics and corporate actions to capture spread and manage settlement/carry risk
2. Handle client pricing and availability requests directly, and grow the broker and custodian network to strengthen two-way flow and secure scarce stock supply
3. Own daily desk P&L reconciliation, and monitor short interest, borrow utilization and special borrow lists
4. Keep the desk aligned with regional SBL and short-selling regulations
5. Support the Delta One and synthetic equity desks with hedging inventory, and help streamline desk workflows and reporting

What you'll bring:

1. A master's degree in finance, mathematics or a related discipline
2. At least 6+ years of dedicated SBL trading experience
3. Strong command of securities lending strategy and risk management
4. Proficiency with trading platforms and financial analysis tools
5. Solid knowledge of HK regulatory and compliance requirements for financial services
