Team Head / Senior RM, China Corporates, Regional Bank

The Company

Our client is a regional bank with a Corporate Banking platform in Hong Kong. It is seeking a senior China Corporates banker to lead a team of three to four Relationship Managers, while retaining direct responsibility for client coverage and new business development. The successful individual will strengthen the China corporates franchise through senior relationship management, disciplined origination, and close partnership with internal product, credit, and risk teams. This role suits someone who can build a high-performing team while bringing new-to-bank corporate relationships into the platform.

The Role

• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of three to four Relationship Managers covering China corporates.
• Set clear coverage priorities, develop the team's client pipeline, and maintain strong commercial and risk discipline.
• Build senior relationships with China corporate clients and originate new-to-bank opportunities.
• Grow existing client relationships through focused coverage plans and identification of additional banking needs.
• Take ownership of key client interactions and support the team on complex relationship or deal discussions.
• Work closely with internal product, credit, risk, and operations partners to deliver appropriate corporate-banking solutions.
• Oversee portfolio quality, credit processes, onboarding, and ongoing client-management requirements.
• Ensure all activity meets the bank's internal governance, compliance, and regulatory standards.

Your Profile

• 12-16 years of relevant corporate-banking experience, with established China corporates coverage.
• Demonstrable experience originating and converting new-to-bank corporate relationships.
• Proven people-leadership capability, ideally managing or mentoring a team of Relationship Managers.
• Strong commercial judgement, relationship-management skills, and an understanding of credit and risk processes.
• Fluent Mandarin is essential.
• Hong Kong permanent residency or an existing, relevant Hong Kong working visa is required.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across product, credit, risk, and operations teams.
