About the team
The Transaction Banking Sales Section is responsible for supporting the Relationship Managers offices and divisions in the Asia Pacific region, mainly but not limited to the following activities:
- Promote global transaction banking business by providing tailor-made cash & trade solutions to customers regionally with lined-up products to comprehensively fulfill customers’ needs in various situations throughout their treasury cycle;
- Reinforce consultative approach to handle new products or services by consolidating necessary know-how and expertise;
- Marketing & Sales, Solution Providing, Coordination, Create Proposals, Respond to RFP, Presentation, Documentation, Performance monitoring, etc.;
- Conduct by-Country Market & Environment Research, Branch Business Planning, Branch Training & Education, Product Needs Feed-back;
- Address target customer’s transaction banking service requirements and to develop local services and products.
Role requirements
- Increasing numbers of transaction and volume of transaction banking in the region by identifying and capturing trade / cash flow business between China and other APAC countries;
- Growing transaction banking profit from the NJP clients by captured trade / cash flow;
- Understanding the evolving client needs and market changes, and communicating the same to the RMs and GTBD desks;
- Joining the meeting initiated by RMs for example pipeline calls to understand the client needs and deal pipeline, and to provide suggestion of potential business opportunities;
- Working with RMs, middle / back office members and trade and cash teams to coordinate to build new / special operation flow etc.;
- Accelerating Corridor Approach Strategy starting from Chinese corporates, and expanding to other non-Chinese cooridors.
Essential Functions
- The purpose and function of this role is driving the Transaction Banking sales in the region by accelerating Corridor Approach Strategy started from this fiscal year.
- Currently this strategy is started from identifying and capturing Chinese corporates’ cross-border trade/cash flows, but plan to expand to other non-Chinese corridors as soon as possible.
- The incumbent will work very closely with GTDB products members and RMs especially for Chinese corporates to identify and capture cross-border TB opportunities, also replicate the solutions within APAC.
- Also, will work with RMs to understand the client’s needs and market development, and create solutions to cater to client needs.
- The incumbent will have the TB revenue responsibility for the NJP clients.
Competencies
- We are looking for an individual who proactively initiate changes and improvements for higher productivity/performance;
- Effectively negotiates with his/her external/internal counterparties to execute regular deals/tasks;
- Builds an internal and external network to execute more complicated deals and tasks.
- Good knowledge about internal operations, especially on the trade side, will be required.
Work experience, education and skills
- At least 10 years of experience in transaction banking, and at least 3 years in identifying and capturing cash/trade flow between China and APAC;
- TB sales experience in international bank is highly desirable;
- Bachelor’s degree holder in Business or related disciplines;
- Good commercialization experience is advantageous;
- Ability to work in a matrix organization including using influencing skills to drive business;
- Having a mind to try to discover business opportunities with ingenuity even if the system capabilities are not enough;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Native speaker in Mandarin preferred and fluent English.
